Why use Compare Credit Cards?

When you apply directly with a credit card provider, they will run a hard credit check as part of the full application process. This leaves a footprint on your credit file. Applying with multiple credit card providers could result in multiple hard searches; too many hard searches in a short space of time could have a negative impact on your credit score.

Compare Credit Cards is a credit broker, not a lender.

Our Eligibility Checker takes the guesswork out of applying for credit by showing you how likely you are to be approved for a credit card. We use soft search technology, which does not show on your credit report to anyone but you, and has no impact on your score.

Our service is free - we do not charge any fees. You are under no obligation to make a full application for any of the credit cards you are presented with if you feel that they are not suitable for you and your circumstances.

We work with a range of trusted credit card providers, all of whom are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). You might find the perfect credit card or you may decide to take a breather before making a decision. Take your time - we're always here if you need us.

The Compare Credit Cards process

Here at Compare Credit Cards, we understand that your time is precious. That's why our online form has been designed to be as straightforward as possible. Once you have completed the Eligibility Checker, we aim to show you your results in just 60 seconds.

Complete our online Eligibility Checker. The information you provide will help us match you to suitable credit cards, so be sure to answer all questions as accurately as you can.

Sit back and relax. It takes just 60 seconds to run the soft search eligibility check and scan our providers for any suitable matches.

If we've been able to match you to one or more credit cards, we'll show you your results.

Carefully read through the information for each credit card. We'll also let you know how likely you are to be approved, should you wish to go ahead and apply.

Found the right credit card for you? You can click through to the provider's website and make a full application. The credit card provider will carry out a hard credit check as part of the application process.

Things to remember

If you're accepted for a credit card, you may not be offered the advertised Annual Percentage Rate (APR) - you could be offered a higher or lower interest rate. The APR you are offered will depend on a number of different factors, including your credit score.
If you do not pay at least the minimum monthly amount due on time each month you could be charged a late payment fee. This could also affect your credit score.
Always read your terms and conditions thoroughly before signing a credit agreement.
